Summadayze Perth moves venue

The line-up is yet to be announced, but Perth Summadayze fans can look forward to a confirmed venue change for 2013. Next January, the iconic festival of “sound, colour, and sun” will be held at the 43,500 capacity Patersons Stadium (formerly known as Subiaco Oval) and adjoining Kitchener Park, instead of the Sir James Mitchell Park from earlier this year.
Although it is the first time the stadium and park have been used for a music festival, promoter Brad Mellen expressed his excitement for the new venue, stating that it ticks all the rights boxes in terms of “having existing facilities and being centrally located with transport and parking”. This decision is expected to set a precedent for Patersons to be used more frequently as a concert venue in the future.
Earlier this year, huge names such as Justice, Pendulum, Snoop Dogg, and Scissor Sisters, as well as DJ sets from icons like Moby and Grandmaster Flash tore through the New Year’s festival circuit. Summadayze 2013 promises to be even bigger and better than ever.
