How’s this for an enticing prospect? On Saturday 10 November, “boutique musical adventure” OutsideIn will bring together a carefully curated line-up at the Factory Theatre that celebrates forward-thinking electronic music. The action is set to be spread across three stages, with international guests and local stars billed. OutsideIn is a collaboration between Sydney touring and management agency Astral People (so far this year they’ve brought us Blawan & Pariah, Lapalux, Dark Sky and KNXWLEDGE to name a few) and record label, Yes Please. They’ve invited the sharp minds at Goodgod Small Club to curate the outdoor stage. With a limited capacity, it’s easy on the wallet too: early bird tickets being 44 bucks until sold out.

So, who’s providing the entertainment? U.S. hip hop impresario Smoke DZA will be there, showcasing the many projects he’s cooked up. With their 2011 album Work (work, work) picked up by renowned tastemakers Ghostly International, HTRK is on board, and there’s a roll-call of celebrated local beatmakers like Flume, Oliver Tank, Dro Carey and Thrupence. Bass-benders Mark Pritchard and Steve Spacek will bring Africa HiTech to the stage as well, along with Ninja Tune collaborators Jesse Boykins III & MeLo-X, enigmatic Ghostly International recruit Shigeto and more.

OutsideIn first line-up:

Smoke DZA (USA)
Oliver Tank
Shigeto (USA)
Africa Hi-Tech (AUS/UK)
Jesse Boykins III (USA)
Melo-X (USA)
Dro Carey
with many more to be announced

mad lineup, but srsly wtf does "carefully curated" mean in the context of a music festival?

Yawn...Too many no-names

Bitmasher, I guess a line-up curated with consideration for how it all works together, rather than a mish-mash of the acts that were available.

@jamwildway apply finger to pulse and then you might see the charm in this lineup.
