Danny Tenaglia & John Digweed team up for one-off NYC event

It is indeed rare that one gets the chance to see the names John Digweed and Danny Tenaglia on the same billing, but that’s exactly what’s happening in the pointy end of the Northern summer. This Saturday 11 August, two of the most respected names in dance music will come together and take over one of New York City’s most spectacular summer party hotspots. Held on Governors Island just off the coast of Manhattan Island, across the way from the Statue of Liberty, it has been put together by Made Event: the same people behind the Electric Zoo festival to be staged in NYC just a few weeks later.
Luckily for Tenaglia fans in his hometown, the man’s recent announcement that he’s “resigning, not retiring” meant he’s well and truly still up for DJing around NYC, despite calling off a string of international tour dates. That said, he’s choosing his gigs wisely. “I’m 1000% sure that MADE Event will get that phat Phazon sound and the bass absolutely perfect,” he recently wrote on Facebook.
The Digweed/Tenaglia one-off offering promises a four-storey tent with open walls, an open air beach, state of the art sound and light system, all capped off by scenic views of the New York skyline. Here on a Saturday afternoon late into the northern summer, the two are supported ably by Washington, DC/Stockholm duo Pleasurekraft and local NYC duo Sleepy & Boo. We’ll be bringing you a review of the event by inthemix scribe ElliotG.
