A bevy of bass talent coming our way for New Year’s
Mon 6th Aug, 2012 Newsin
We might be shivering our way through winter right now, but the summer line-ups have already started streaming in. As ever, the New Year’s party period will see an influx of international visitors for club shows, marquee festivals like Field Day, Summadayze and Falls Festival, the mighty Perth bass love-in Origin NYE and camping weekenders like Peats Ridge. With Hot Chip, SBTRKT, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and a bunch more announced today for Falls, things are already shaping up nicely. Then there’s Krafty Kuts vs. A Skillz and the Friendly Fires DJs for Peats, to just scratch the surface.
Now there’s a new batch of artists set for an antipodean adventure this New Year’s. These names come courtesy of the Rhythm and Alps festival, which sets up camp under New Zealand’s Southern Alps on 28 and 29 December. The festival is the sister spin-off of Rhythm & Vines, which will drop its line-up on 16 August. Rhythm and Alps has secured Gaslamp Killer, High Contrast, Disclosure, Camo & Krooked, Logistics, Chali 2na and many more to play alongside headliner SBTRKT. These acts will be crossing the Tasman for some Australian shows as well, including this New Year’s gig in Sydney with High Contrast, Camo & Krooked, Logistics and Spy. Stay tuned for more, and check out our New Year’s Tour Wish-List below.
