Phillip Island’s resident New Year’s bash Pyramid Rock Festival has announced its return for 2012, bringing along with it a host of primarily hip-hop, punk and hardcore acts to help see in 2013.

Locals 360, Children Collide and Karnivool are featured alongside an international contingent led by Pittsburgh punks Anti-Flag, Brighton duo Blood Red Shoes and a DJ set from Brits Friendly Fires. Canberra boys Hands Like Houses are headed along after wrapping up a giant US tour, joined by Melbourne hip-hop dude Illy and Sydney native Urthboy. At the dance-ier end of the spectrum, there’s Arnold sensation Luke Million and dubstep wave-maker Phetsta.

2012 marks the festival’s ninth year on Phillip Island and third consecutive year at the same price. This year’s event will run from Saturday December 29 through til Tuesday January 1 and entry will set you back $270, or $305 for a camping ticket.
