Luke Fair returning for September club tour

We last saw Canadian house authority Luke Fair in our clubs in September 2011, and he’s set to return almost exactly a year later. The DJ/producer will kick off his tour at Fluidlife Lunar in Melbourne, the party that has hosted Thomas Schumacher, Kevin Griffiths, Silicone Soul and Ian Pooley so far this year (to name just a few). Then Fair carries on to the familiar and perfectly-suited surrounds of Chinese Laundry in Sydney and Perth’s Geisha Bar. Before his last tour, Fair put together an exclusive mix for ITM-FM featuring records from Milton Jackson, Jozif, Shonky, John Tejada and more, which you can listen to here.

2012 has been busy on the production front for the studio whiz, with a wide range of labels picking up his handiwork. “I’m not a very good engineer or anything like that, so I sort out the technical stuff just by comparing it to stuff I’ve bought,” Fair told us last year. “I’m more concerned with the creative aspect because at the end of the day, that’s what matters to me. I don’t not buy a track if I think the hi-hat isn’t EQ-ed properly, for example. I know the engineering is really important but it’s not my focus.”

Alongside the production, he’s never far from a DJ booth, playing across the spectrum of four-four. Building a set is one of the man’s strongest suits, as anyone who has caught his tours here can attest. “I still spend hours and hours going through new stuff trying to find those secret weapons,” he told us. “I’m also editing most of the stuff I play to some extent.”

Luke Fair tour dates:
