Hear the finalists in Defqon.1 Australia Producers Contest

In its quest to ‘create some new heroes’, Defqon.1 opened up its 2012 Producers Contest to the next wave of production talent. The contest was only open to Australia and New Zealand and the entries came in thick and fast. Now the Defqon.1 team has sifted through the productions to present the 10 finalists.

You can listen to the tracks that made the cut below, then head here to vote on your favourite. Voting closes at midnight Thursday September 6, and the winner will be announced the following day on the Q-dance website. The winner will be chosen based on its ranking by the judging panel of experts, and the amount of votes received by the public. The winning producer will perform at the PURPLE stage of Defqon.1 Australia.

Counting down the days to Defqon.1? The king of all hard dance festivals is set to lift off on Saturday 15 September at Sydney International Regatta Centre. As past experiences have proven, there’ll be colossal production, sound and staging – and fourth time round, you can expect it to be more spectacular than ever. In case you need a refresher on what you’re in for (unlikely!), the line-up includes Headhunterz, Wildstylez, Zany, Frontliner, Neophyte, Evil Activities and Organ Donors. The mix of stages will serve up hardstyle, hard trance, hardcore, techno, psytrance and plenty more. If you’re planning to really make a weekend of it, Q-dance is once again offering the ‘Extended Camping Experience’.
