No doubt, Calvin Harris has had his share of radio play over the past 12 months. As well as producing one of Rihanna’s biggest hits in years, the Scotsman has dropped the near-inescapable Feels So Close, Kelis collab’ Bounce and most recently, We’ll Be Coming Back with fellow Stereosonic name Example. Chances are, Calvin’s love affair with all things FM isn’t about to end: the producer’s taken to his favourite mouthpiece (that’d be Twitter, of course) to announce that’s he about to drop LP number three.

“My new album is called 18 Months and features Kelis, Rihanna, Example, Nicky Romero, Ellie Goulding, Tinie Tempah, Florence, Dizzee Rascal, Neyo, Ayah + Dillon Francis,” Harris revealed. The next single we can expect from the collaboration-heavy release is the Florence Welch hook-up, Sweet Nothing, which Harris also revealed he’d just finished filming the video for. And if this announcement feels a long time coming, that’s because it is: Bounce was released as the first single way back in June 2011, so by the time the album lands it’ll have been nigh on a year and a half in the works. So the title 18 Months a reference to the time the LP took to record, perhaps?

The new album will be the first since 2009’s Ready for the Weekend, the recipient of The Guardian’s notorious two star review and Calvin’s memorable Twitter response. According to unverified sources (read: Wikipedia), 18 Months is due out October 29 through Calvin’s label Fly Eye Records.
