The Aston Shuffle announce new album and tour

After a devoted year in the studio, The Aston Shuffle dropped the first taste of their forthcoming second album last week. Title track Can’t Stop Now revealed the duo to be in typically fine form and while a new single from the pair is exciting enough, what’s even better is the promise of a new album. So it’s welcome news, then, that Mikah and Vance have revealed we can expect LP number two in early 2013. Making the trifecta of good news, The Astons have also announced they’re hitting the road to celebrate.
The 2010 inthemix awards winners have announced a seven-date club tour for October, hitting Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast, Brisbane and their hometown, Canberra. As well as the new material, the pair of course have 2011’s Seventeen Past Midnight up their sleeve, the impressive debut album that won them a big following at home and abroad.
As you’d expect, it sounds like we’re in for some good stuff with the sophomore album: “After the release of Seventeen Past Midnight we’ve been hitting the studio pretty hard of late and there’s some real magic coming out,” Mikah told us last year. “What took us like two years to put together for the last album has taken like a couple of months, and we feel we’ve really learnt some lessons from last time and are really nailing ‘our sound’.” Tickets for the tour go on sale Monday September 3.

12th October – Villa, Perth
13th October – The Toff, Melbourne
19th October – Academy, Canberra
