Swedish House Mafia take on Hardwell: “That’s the lowest I’ve seen”

Swedish House Mafia may have officially hung up their hat, but the trio – or at least two thirds of it – are still keep busy on Twitter. A couple of months after Steve Angello and DJ Sneak had it out in 140-character sized chunks, two members of the now-retired SHM have found themselves in another online sparring match. This time, it’s young gun Hardwell at the receiving end. So where’s the beef this round?
As far as we can tell, the problem began when Dutch whiz Hardwell tweeted that if he reached 300,000 fans on Facebook, he’d post a Bootleg Pack for free download. Seem innocuous? You’d think so, but Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso didn’t see it that way, given the bootleg in question included Swedish House Mafia material. It didn’t take long for the pair to tweet at Hardwell their disapproval over the producer giving out SHM tunes for free. “Giving away our music in mash ups for Facebook like @HARDWELL that’s the lowest I’ve seen!!!”, Ingrosso blasted at the up-and-comer. In tweets that have since been deleted, Hardwell apologised to the group and removed the bootleg from his Facebook – you can view the exchange (including a quality Pryda troll) below.

Hardwell fans on Facebook and Twitter have been quick to come to the producer’s defence, criticising Axwell and Ingrosso for airing their grievances on Twitter (the irony, there, obviously lost). Steve Angello, meanwhile, seems oblivious. “@hardwell guys what’s up? I haven’t even tweeted anyone. Ha ha ha”.
