After three years of anticipation, a couple of sold-out Australian shows and two very lovely new singles, Londoners The xx will finally drop their sophomore album Coexist on Monday. For the diehard xx devotee, the follow-up to their debut 2009 release xx has been a long time coming. With the group declaring they’ve discovered new club influences and Jamie xx finding his feet as a solo producer/DJ since the last release, you’d be right to wonder just how Coexist will compare to the first album.
But if you’re not keen to wait out the rest of the week before wrapping your ears around the group’s second release, the good news is that The xx are streaming the album in full right now courtesy the below widget. You can also head to the band’s website to see a virtual map of the album spreading across the world. So far, there’s plenty tuning in in across Europe, the US and Australia as well as one lone listener in Iceland (you go, Reykjavik). In other pre-release streaming news, The Presets are offering up a new track a day on the Modular website ahead of the release of Pacifica on Friday.
