Laneway Festival 2013 lineup "one of the most amazing" yet

In February this year, St Jerome’s Laneway Festival brought out some very welcome electronic names. At the top of the bill for ITMers was masked producer SBTRKT alongside Frenchman M83 and Spanish whizz John Talabot, the esteemed trio joined by, as per tradition, a host of very cool indie, folk and shoegaze-y names. In sum, it was a good year for the festival.

But in the spirit of always coming back bigger and better, the Laneway organisers have announced this morning that they’re bringing “one of the most amazing line-ups we’ve ever had” out for 2013. We’ll get to see for ourselves how the bill stacks up on September 26, when St Jerome’s Laneway Festival has confirmed they’ll announce the 2013 bill and venues. While we’re a couple of weeks out from getting the lineup, the dates for each of the seven cities have been locked in with the Australian leg of the tour kicking off in Brisbane on February 1.

So who can we hope to see this time around? Rumoured to attend are the likes of Cat Power, Yeasayer and Mount Eerie and at the dance-ier end of the spectrum, the reportedly female-heavy line-up could mean we’ll be seeing the long awaited debut visit of one Maya Jane Coles. Fingers crossed for that one.
