Flying Lotus planning February Australian tour

With Flying Lotus having recently announced he’s got a new album coming in October, you might’ve been wondering if he had a celebratory Australian tour planned. Well, wonder no more: FlyLo’s revealed he’s headed our way “hopefully in February”.
The LA-based producer told triple j’s Richard Kingsmill on the phone this morning that he’s (“hopefully”) headed back this summer. At this stage, that’s as much as we know. So what could the February visit be for? Festival wise, the obvious choice would be St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival, who declared last week that their 2013 lineup is “one of the most amazing yet”. Laneway’s announcing their bill on September 26, so we’ll know either way then. But FlyLo’s proven partial to more intimate dates, too – the last time he was in Australia it was to bring a triple-bill event with Martyn and Africa Hitech to Sydney’s Metro Theatre.
FlyLo announced in July that he’s got Until the Quiet Comes, the follow-up to 2010’s celebrated Cosmogramma, coming on October 2 and to preview the album, he released the below short film last week. With the LP set to be a mega 18 tracks long, there’s plenty of FlyLo to look forward to. Stay tuned for further details of next year’s tour – hopefully we’re not kept waiting too long.
