First act on Summadayze 2013 lineup leaked

The Summadayze and Summafieldayze lineups might not be arriving until tomorrow, but a day out from the big reveal we’ve had our first leak. The honours have gone to the ever-edgy M.I.A., who has been revealed as part of the New Year’s bill by an article in (we think) the Gold Coast Bulletin.

That’s been all but confirmed by Future Entertainment, who posted a picture of the newspaper article in question to their Facebook today. “If you believe everything you read in all the national paper today it looks like M.I.A. will be making an appearance at Summadayze and Summafieldayze!”, the touring juggernaut wrote. The leak certainly fits – M.I.A.’s got a new album coming out later this year, the forthcoming release preceded by the February single (and serious contender for video of the year) Bad Girls.

It also wouldn’t be the first time the former Diplo protégée has done an Australian summer festival. Her last visit was for the 2011 edition of Big Day Out and in the Kala era, M.I.A. did Parklife in ’07.
