Origin announces 2012 lineup

Image for Origin announces 2012 lineup

Origin has solid built a reputation for delivering top-notch lineups with all things bass front and centre. In 2010, the New Year was brought in with Chase & Status and Sub Focus (who later crowned the gig one of his best ever) in tow and last year, Origin welcomed the likes of Noisia, Foreign Beggars and Borgore to Perth’s Belvoir Amphitheatre.

Bass-heads will be pleased to hear, then, that Origin have outdone themselves once again for the 2012 edition of the festival. At the top of the bill is Chase & Status, the Brits making what’s sure to be a welcome return to WA. They’re joined by seizure music specialists Knife Party and a huge bill that includes the likes of Gaslamp Killer, our own Shockone and Pearson Sound.

Origin has some other big news to go along with the huge lineup – they’re expanding to a two day event. While Origin has typically been a NYE deal, this time ‘round they’ve doubled the fun and are now taking over December 30 and 31. To accommodate the bigger festival and allow camping for the first time, Origin is moving from Belvoir Amphitheatre to the new venue of the heritage-listed Fairbridge Village. Presale tickets are available now through thebigape.com.au while general release tickets go on sale October 2nd, the same day the festival drops their second round of acts.

Wow wow wow, there are some massive bass based sounds here for NY's arent there. Minus Untold and Martyn, you could pretty much see every major player in the scene here in Oz over summer. Awesome.
