When Big Day Out announced their 2013 line-up earlier this year, it was clear the long-running festival had paid special attention to packing a formidable Boiler Room lineup this time ‘round. Among those bound for BDO’s sweatiest stage are longtime Australian favourite Kaskade, 8-bit heroes Crystal Castles, genre-bender Pretty Lights and young gun Nicky Romero. Then, of course, there’s the Bloody Beetroots.
It was very good news when the Italians told us they’re headed our way for the festival circuit, but the even better news is that they’re not stopping there. The Beetroots have revealed they’re treating Australia to BDO sideshows, hitting Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne for three dates presented by inthemix. Bringing with them their vision for a new “versatile, compact, furious and dance-inducing” live show, banging new single Rocksteady and material from their forthcoming 2013 album, there’s no doubt the trio of dates will be heaving. Completing the picture is support from fast-rising Canberra duo Peking duK in Sydney and Brisbane while Generik has the honours in Melbourne. Tickets are on sale at 9am on Friday September 21 through the Big Day Out website.
