Boys Noize has been right up the top of our tour wish-list for a while now. With a new album on its way, plans for a brand new “terminatoresque” live stage show afoot and no Australian visit for nigh on two years, there’s been plenty of reason to hope Alex Ridha makes his way back to our shores soon. Thankfully, all that hoping and praying hasn’t been in vain as Ridha has confirmed he’s definitely headed back our way for 2013.
Speaking to blog Stoney Roads, the German revealed “I promise I’m coming back early 2013! The tour will be announced very soon”. That’s as much as we know at this stage, but it’s worth taking a punt at where we’ll seeing the techno whiz: Field Day, who’ve yet to announce their NYD bill, is an option. Future Music Festival, who usually announce their lineup around October, is a serious contender. Then there’s always the club tour possibility. But wherever Ridha lands, it’s decidedly good news – the last time he was in the country was at the beginning of 2011 with Summadayze, so a return visit is well overdue.
Hopefully, the full details of the tour will be revealed soon. But in the meantime, we’ve got the release of maestro’s third album Out Of The Black to look forward to on October 2. Ridha’s described the new album as a return to his “raw and rough” sound – for an idea of what to expect, listen to lead single XTC below.
