Last week, we were proud to announce the inaugural Electronic Music Conference, set for Sydney on Tuesday November 27 and Wednesday November 28 2012. Asia-Pacific’s first conference dedicated to electronic music, EMC will bring together the world’s leading artists, managers, industry, promoters and media for a program of panels, keynote interviews and parties. EMC2012 is the first announcement in a schedule of events for ARIA Week, a week-long celebration leading up to the 2012 ARIA Awards.

The response to the announcement has been very encouraging, and now we’re putting the call out for topics that you’d like to see discussed, debated and dissected at EMC. If you have an idea for an interesting panel submission, or would like to put yourself forward to speak at EMC2012, email hello@electronicmusicconference.com with as much detail as you can, or you can leave your suggestion in the comments field below.

EMC2012 is all about collaboration, so we want your input the what kind of panels, debates, keynotes, events and showcases you’d like to see at the Electronic Music Conference. The first round line up, and ticketing and event information, will be released next week. We’re also going to be announcing the details of the Emerging Artist Showcase, where we’ll be giving the chance for upcoming artists to perform in front of the cream of Asia-Pacific’s music industry. In the meantime, make sure to ‘Like’ EMC on Facebook, and follow the conference on Twitter for updates.

Would love to see a discussion about the bush doof / free music culture and how it runs alongside yet rarely crosses over with the club / commerical scene.

I hope this is not going to just be on how the Edm global market can capitalise on the commercial side of Australia and how more of these events can fit into dates, we need variety with in the Edm Aus market weather this be clubs or festivals ( especially the festival market )..

Lets hope this betters the market for all and not just the commercial market.

On another note - the pannel should bring up booking fee's for these acts and to find a way to get the artists and there booking agents to lower there fees not to have them so much higher compaired to the rest of the globe

I think generally the fees for artists are a little lower than the rest of the world, though the costs associated on traveling here are substantially higher....

Though for big commercial acts this might not be true as they are able to capitalise on the Australian festival market
