Regularly touted as one of Australia’s best boutique festivals, the annual Rainbow Serpent pilgrimage is the stuff of lore ‘round these parts. “Do yourself a favour and jump on this rainbow-coloured bandwagon,” ITM’s reviewer encouraged after the epic three day festival wound-up in 2011. “You’ll spend the next 350 odd days waiting for a carnival you need to see to believe.” Last month, Rainbow Serpent dropped the first round of names headed to Beaufort, Victoria in January 2013 and now, the festival has brought the second instalment of acts.

Leading the charge is Israeli gun Guy J. The Bedrock recruit has proven a sure favourite in Australia, most recently completing what was, by all accounts, a very nicely done June club tour. He’s joined by a seriously long list of names from across the dance spectrum, including tech-house innovator Christian Smith as well as Peter Van Hoesen, Oliver Koletzki and Mathew Dekay. The people at Rainbow Serpent had promised “an extra emphasis on this year on fresh and first-time appearances at Rainbow”, and sure enough they’ve delivered. It all kicks off January 25-28, head to the website for ticket details.

One of the best festivals in the world. Alot of internationally respected artists think the same way. Pumped for Peter Van Hoesen, Kalden Bess, Guy J, Mathew Dekay, Oliver Koletzki & Christian Smith. Still very early to be getting excited.

ITM line up lists would be better with their [label/s] next to their names
