Armin van Buuren & Deadmau5 making collaboration live

UPDATE: The producers have been sending files back and forth to come up with a joint effort that represents both their sounds. Here’s the most recent rough draft posted below, which pairs their distinctive melodic sensibilities into a pacy big-room filler. We’re guessing there’ll be more polishing to happen from here.
ORIGINAL STORY:
We know Deadmau5 likes to remove the smoke-and-mirrors from producing, and now he has coaxed Dutch trance guru Armin van Buuren into his process. After Armin gave Deadmau5 an airing on his radio show A State Of Trance, the pair struck up a collaboration on Twitter. The results are unfolding live now, and you can download the second draft here, courtesy of the mau5. Now it’s over to the ASOT boss to keep it rolling.
@deadmau5 deal! I’ll be in my hotel in an hour. I’ll get on it :-)

Earlier this year, Armin told inthemix about his outlook on evolving as a producer. “My motto has always been, ‘Don’t be a prisoner of your own style’. I miss the days sometimes when Sasha and John Digweed used to drop everything from deep house to trance-y stuff, and everything was possible. I think sometimes people are too narrow-minded for their own good. I’m not becoming a prog-house DJ by the way, not at all!”
For Deadmau5, in his 2011 inthemix interview, there was a similar sentiment. “I’m just making music, dude. One of the things that I’ve found, especially with electronic music, is that it’s so easy to just get pinned to one sound. I don’t like that. I used to really feed into what I thought people wanted from me. I used to sort of tailor tracks to what was working and you could hear it when I released Faxing Berlin and then Jaded and then Not Exactly, it was like ‘well, that worked!’. It’s a formula thing, and every one has done it.”
