THE 2013 FIELD DAY LINE-UP HAS LANDED – CHECK OUT IT HERE!
Fuzzy is dropping Field Day’s 2013 lineup on Tuesday, meaning the countdown to the final piece in the New Year’s puzzle is on. With the rumour mill abuzz and a host of other New Year’s festival lineups already announced, we thought it time to have a look at who might be making up the Field Day bill.
Of course, we already know that dude-of-the-moment Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs is part of the crew, announced early on by Fuzzy. Given TEED’s also doing Falls Festival, we reckon there’s every chance he’s not the only member of the contingent headed up to Sydney once the Lorne and Marion Bay events wrap-up. Hot Chip are on the Falls bill too and Sydney would make for a convenient stop-off on the way to their Summafieldayze show on the Gold Coast. The same goes for SBTRKT, who’s also doing Falls and Summafieldayze and would be right at home at Field Day.
There’s also some big clues to be had in the Summadayze lineup, which typically has a decent amount of crossover with Field Day. Some keen-eared folk picked out Erol Alkan among TEED’s bleeped out announcement of the lineup (watch it below), and Booka Shade, Disclosure, M.I.A., Fake Blood and Breakbot are also serious contenders.
Bass don Benga has been announced on the WA Origin lineup and you can bet he’s not coming all this way for just one show, so Field Day’s practically a given. Plus with the festival bringing indie acts as well as dance, names like Two Door Cinema Club (who’re on the bill at Falls) have also been thrown up in speculation. But we won’t know for sure until next week, so head back to inthemix on Tuesday morning for the official announcement.
