Ever since Field Day announced Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs as the first act on the festival’s 2013 bill, we’ve been hanging out to see who else Fuzzy would bring to Sydney for their long-running NYD bash. To refresh the memory, 2012 brought a world exclusive of the new Justice live show, plus Crystal Castles, Moby, Tiga and more. Now, the wait is over: Field Day have revealed the rest of the 2013 bill and we’ve got to hand it to them, this’ll go down as one of their best yet.

Leading the charge are the celebrated live shows of Brits Hot Chip and SBTRKT, who’ve got a busy New Year’s period with stops at Falls Festival and Summafieldayze while they’re in town. They’re joined by Mark Ronson for a DJ set as well as the rightly-rumoured likes of Erol Alkan, Fake Blood, Disclosure, Breakbot and Booka Shade. Sure to impress many ‘round these parts is the inclusion of Maya Jane Coles on her first trip to Australia, plus cult favourites Hudson Mohawke and Araabmuzik. On the indie front, Field Day also boasts Two Door Cinema Club, The Vaccines and Django Django.

“Field Day has been Sydney’s biggest, brightest and most sun-soaked new year’s celebration for 11 years,” says Fuzzy’s Creative Director John Wall. “This year’s roll-call of talent is one of the coolest festival line-ups we’ve put together in a long time, so we can’t wait for the first day of next year to come and kiss us hello!”

If all that didn’t already have you sold, Coolio’s on the bill as well, to help transform the Domain into a Gangster’s Paradise for four minutes. As per tradition, it all kicks off on January 1 at Sydney’s The Domain. Pre-sale tickets go on sale Monday October 22 for $118 + $7 BF, with general release to follow on Thursday, October 25.
