Fri 2nd Nov, 2012 Newsin
Next week, the huge one-off edition of Eclipse festival gets underway. Timed to coincide with the Total Eclipse of the Sun that will occur over Northern Australian in the morning of November 14, Eclipse is welcoming in the solar eclipse with a whopping seven days of music and camping.
With Eclipse boasting six stages covering trance, techno, broken beats, chill, roots, reggae and gypsy, there’s plenty of different acts and DJs bound for the festival’s Far North Queensland site. So with a busy week of music ahead of them, the minds behind Eclipse have gone to work planning set times for the festival, which you can familiarise with below. Standouts on the mammoth bill include Perfect Stranger, Fat Freddy’s Drop and Psycatron, but that’s only skimming the surface of who to look forward to. Plan your adventure with the latest version of the Eclipse set times.
The Eclipse team have also put together a comprehensive survival guide with some seriously important information for attendees. First up, it’s vital to note how hot it will be (expect temperatures nudging on the 40s all day, with 80% humidity), so take care not to dehydrate. Punters who are driving to and from the festival site should be aware the last 100km of the trip is on a particularly dangerous road and all attendees need to be aware of the potential for dangerous wild animals like crocodiles and snakes. Please, read the full survival guide carefully over here. Though with Eclipse2012 five years in the making, we’re sure they’ve got the rest covered.
