Swedish House Mafia announce 2013 One Last Tour Australia show

Having teased us with a glaring clue earlier this week, now comes the time for the real deal: yes, dance music powerhouse Swedish House Mafia is coming to Australia. On Saturday 2 February, the trio will touch down for a final farewell in Sydney as part of ‘One Last Tour’. The massive headline show will be staged by Totem Onelove, and proudly presented by inthemix. Running from 6pm till 11pm at Sydney Showground, expect a stadium-sized Swedish House Mafia soundtrack accompanied by lasers, fireworks, pyrotechnics and flames.

2012 has already delivered a career’s worth of highpoints for Swedish House Mafia. After announcing the end of the project – “We came, we raved, we loved” – Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell and Steve Angello reeled in a staggering 65,000 fans to Milton Keynes Bowl in the UK, giving send-off single Don’t You Worry Child a spectacular debut. That single, featuring the vocals of John Martin, is still #1 on iTunes this week.

To coincide with the final tour, the Swedes also released a mix compilation, Until Now, bringing together selections from the group’s back catalogue, mash-ups, edits and previously unreleased material including the Sebastian Ingrosso and Tommy Trash collaboration Reload. As well as Don’t You Worry Child, Until Now features a roll-call of Swedish House Mafia anthems: Greyhound, Knife Party collab Antidote, Miami 2 Ibiza and Leave The World Behind.

The worldwide trip so far includes a three-night stand at Friends Arena in Stockholm, dates in Dubai, Mumbai and Delhi, plus a cluster of shows around Europe, North America and Canada. In 2013, the Swedes will stop again at New York’s historic Madison Square Garden, after selling out the venue in 2011, before winding up the circuit at L.A. Historic Park. Expect Sydney to be an explosive highpoint of the tour – not to mention the very last time fans will experience Swedish House Mafia in Australia. It really is too bad that int'l artists only think of Sydney when they think of Australia.

In this case it's a good thing these particular international artists have only thought of sydney when they think of australia.

Who cares if it's 16 , its the last chance these kids will have to see musical history. Everybody was 16 once upon a time yo

Honestly dont think it should be allowing 16year olds there!! i mean this is SHM they are known for the big picture all the major festivals and clubs they have played at and they are going to finish up by playing in front of 16year olds and most likely 14 year olds with their older brother or sisters I.D... PULL YOUR SHIT TOGETHER!

snibo23

snibo23 said on the 10th Nov, 2012

@Cizza, don't really care if they tour again together, just hoping that they will at least do some shows/festivals in Australia as individuals as well. Also be nice for them to spend a little time apart so as they can change they're playlist around alittle haha
