Ahead of his arrival in Australia this weekend, Stereosonic headliner Tiesto is throwing his considerable clout behind the fight against AIDS alongside the charity (RED). On 27 November, Tiesto will release the compilation Dance (RED), Save Lives, which features his recent collaboration with Bono on a remake of U2’s Pride, alongside tracks from fellow Stereo-bound artists like Calvin Harris, Avicii, Diplo, Tommy Trash, JFK MSTRKRFT, Martin Solveig and Laidback Luke. Other Tiesto buddies like Afrojack, Bingo Players, Hardwell and Dada Life are also featured on the compilation, so it’s big names all round. All proceeds for that release will go towards the fight against AIDS.

There’s another big announcement, too: to mark World AIDS Day, Stereosonic will be live-streaming sets from the Melbourne leg of the festival on YouTube. If you can’t be there, or you’re wanting to relive your Stereosonic experience from the first weekend, get ready to set YouTube to full-screen and settle in.

“When I went to Africa in 2006, I was struck by the devastating effect of AIDS,” Tiesto says in a statement. “Now the world has an incredible chance to make sure that babies are born HIV-free by 2015, and the dance community is going to make a lot of noise to help make this happen.”

Check out the video below announcing the (RED) initiative. You can tune into Stereosonic Melbourne on Saturday 1 December: stay tuned for details on that broadcast.
