A-Trak is a busy man. Between running his label Fool’s Gold, putting out free monthly radio mixes, producing under his solo guise and with Armand van Helden as Duck Sauce, the Canadian gun always has plenty on the go. So when he stopped by Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show recently, A-Trak was sure to give the BBC host (and us) an update as to exactly where he’s at with new productions. Turns out, as well as a new EP he’s also got the long-awaited Duck Sauce album in the immediate pipeline.
The Future Music Festival-bound producer dished on his forthcoming EP Tuna Melt (great title, right), which is due to arrive soon. The EP’s title track – featuring our own Tommy Trash – has been on the web for a couple of months now, but A-Trak assured there’s plenty more firepower coming in the four-track release. “The four songs are different,” he told Annie Mac. “The Galantis [track] is like industrial techno. Then the track with Oliver is more an electro/disco thing. I wanted to put four things together that reflect my different tastes.” He even premiered one of the EP’s tracks, Landline ft. GTA, on Mac’s show – listen to the rip below.
Capping it all off, A-Trak also confirmed that the Duck Sauce album is finished and set to arrive soon. The album, the duo’s first together, is set to arrive sometime in Spring with a new single coming early next year. So yes, there’s a lot of new A-Trak to look forward to when he touches down for FMF with his ‘A’ live show in tow.
