We can hardly believe it’s been a year since “the most electrifying man in dance music” Smokin Joe Mekhael hit the decks with the hope of breaking the world record for the longest DJ set in history only to learn the attempt wasn’t recognised as Guinness as a world record.
But today, Smokin Joe is about to embark on world record attempt #2, this time paying $7,000 out of his own pocket to have an official adjudicator from Guinness flown over to oversee his efforts and hand him a official Guinness certificate when (that’s WHEN, not IF) he breaks the record to ensure there are no disapointments. But first, he needs to play for 7 days which works out to be about 168 hours in order to break the current record of 150 hours.
