Jackmaster locks in February 2013 tour
Thu 3rd Jan, 2013 Newsin
After tearing through our clubs in late 2011, Glaswegian dynamo Jackmaster has pencilled in a return. The DJ is set to play Perth, Melbourne and Sydney over one marathon weekend in February. Jackmaster has built his reputation on playing records brilliantly (not to mention, at a breakneck pace), and he routinely fills dancefloors across Europe. This year, he’ll help celebrate the 10th anniversary of Glasgow’s Numbers – a collective he shares with the likes of Spencer, Nelson and Goodhand – and he’s also just been announced as one of the new hosts of BBC Radio 1’s In New DJs We Trust show. For a sample of what he’s all about, listen to the Heidi and Jackmaster back-to-back set below.
“Some DJs believe you’ve got to start subtle and build from there,” we wrote of Jackmaster’s FabricLive 57 back in 2011. “On the evidence of this volume, Jackmaster is not one of those DJs. As the man himself put it in an interview with FACT magazine: ‘I wanted to make a CD that girls would put on at house parties, rather than boys sitting in their bedrooms smoking weed to it.’ 29 tracks make the cut for Jackmaster’s ultimate house party mix, and toilet breaks are not an option.”
Jackmaster tour dates:
Thursday 7 Feb 2013 – Geisha Bar, Perth
Friday 8 Feb 2013 – Liberty Social, Melbourne
Saturday 9 Feb 2013 – Numbers @ Goodgod Small Club, Sydney
