Hudson Mohawke playing at Goodgod tonight

Yesterday, we reported that Goodgod Small Club was gearing up to host a visit from a mysterious “secret international guest” tonight. Teaming up with Scottish label/party series Numbers for their first ever Australian event, the Goodgod show always looked to be a big one: with Numbers counting SBTRKT, Jamie xx, Hudson Mohawke and Mosca among their signees – and with at least a couple of those names in town at the moment with the New Year’s festival circuit – chances were that secret international would be one worth making the trip to Chinatown for.

But now, the guessing game is over: Hudson Mohawke has been revealed as tonight’s mystery guest. HudMo broke the news himself on Facebook last night, letting Sydney fans know they could catch him at Liverpool St club. Goodgod then confirmed they’d be hosting the Glasgow producer, adding that Warp/Hyperdub signee Mark Pritchard will be there too. Doors open at 11.30pm (though you’d best get there early) and entry will set you back a very reasonable $15.

Goodgod have certainly set the bar high for secret shows lately. In November, they had Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke on the decks for a packed out secret set after Radiohead’s show at the Sydney Entertainment Centre the same night. Then there’s the imminent Boiler Room tour, which is stopping off at Goodgod with secret guests in tow mid-January as well as hitting secret venues in Perth and stopping by Melbourne for two more shows, one at Sugar Mountain and one at The Bottom End.
