Ultra Europe's 2013 line-up takes shape
Mon 25th Feb, 2013 Newsin
Miami’s Ultra Music Festival is now only a few weeks out from kicking off its mammoth 2013 edition. Held over two weekends, this year’s UMF boasts just about everyone in dance music – from Swedish House Mafia to Richie Hawtin – on the bill. But the flagship festival isn’t the only event Ultra has to its name. In July, UMF will hit festival hotbed Croatia for the three-day Ultra Europe.
But while Ultra Europe is held over three days, the festival is divided into two parts: Day 1 and Day 2 go down in the city of Split while Day 3 shifts venues to picturesque Hvar Island. Over the first two days, names like Avicii, Porter Robinson, Armin van Buuren and Carl Cox & Friends will be rolling into Split’s Poljud Stadium. Separate tickets are sold to the Day 3 event, which moves to the Hotel Amfora Grand Beach Resort on Croatia’s Hvar Island for a one day beach party. As for the Day 3 lineup? So far, house luminary Erick Morillo and Dim Mak boss Steve Aoki have been announced, but those two names were enough to move all of the tickets to Day 3 of UMF Europe in 10 minutes flat. Tickets to Day 1 and Day 2 are still on sale for a very tempting €60 (if only there wasn’t the airfare to factor in, too).
Ultra’s promised the 16 acts announced so far for Day 1 and Day 2 of the festival make up less than half of the names Croatia will be seeing – so if you’re planning a Northern Summer, keep an eye on the Ultra Facebook page for the latest updates. There’s more acts to be added to the beach party, too – but you can check out the lineup as it stands below.
