From the end of April, festival juggernaut Groovin the Moo will bring its huge 2013 lineup through five of Australia’s regional centres. Maitland, Canberra, Bendigo, Townsville and Bunbury will all get the chance to party with the likes of Flume, Example, Tame Impala and The Kooks, a big win for small towns that are usually left off the tour circuit. But the capital cities aren’t completely missing out – following on from Example’s sideshow announcements last month, synth-pop duo YACHT have announced they’ll be making three big city stops while they’re here.

The DFA-signees will be hitting Perth, Melbourne and Sydney on their GTM sideshow dates. It’s their first trip to the country since Meredith Music Festival way back in 2009 and since then, they’ve released their fifth studio album Shangri-La – so look forward to a totally new live show. Tickets to all dates are on sale now.

Speaking with our sister site FasterLouder just before their last visit, Bechtolt said that the band’s live show was a constantly evolving work: “The Yacht show changes every time. We make a huge, Herculean effort to avoid redundancy in our band. But it usually involves Jona and I in the flesh; some kind of epic multimedia video thing going on; some level of interactive experience will happen; a lot of physical touching; a lot of invasion of personal space; a lot of weird demands being made upon the audience and hopefully a lot of dancing and sweating and screaming and running around.” Sounds epic.

YACHT Groovin the Moo sideshows:

Tuesday April 30 – Oxford Art Factory, Sydney
Friday May 3 – Ding Dong Lounge, Melbourne
Friday May 10 – The Bakery, Perth
