Along with the flagship festival at the Las Vegas Speedway, Insomniac’s Electric Daisy Carnival empire also has a home in New York. ‘The Experience’ is set to return to the city on the weekend of Friday 17 and Saturday 18 May, and the line-up has just been announced. With the names arranged in alphabetical order, there’s no obvious headliner hierarchy, but you can expect the likes of Afrojack, Dash Berlin, Calvin Harris, Steve Angello and Eric Prydz to pull the crowds in. The Carl Cox and Friends arena is there as well, alongside Richie Hawtin presenting ENTER, plus drawcards like Porter Robinson, Chuckie, Loco Dice, Seth Troxler, Headhunterz and Nicky Romero.
Speaking exclusively to inthemix about the Las Vegas event, Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella said: “We’ll be making some major changes this upcoming year actually; very different from what we’ve done in the past. The environment will be completely different, because of the production that we’re doing. We’ve always focused on technology, LED screens and moving lights. The majority of our events have been about the most cutting-edge technology. We are going to get real creative with the stages – we’re going to have art installations, additional art cars roaming the festival ground and a few surprises as well for when you get there.” Expect the same attention to detail at the New York event.
The line-up for EDC Chicago was also recently announced, with the camping festival stretching across three days – Friday 24 to Sunday 26 May. Several key acts will be rolling on from New York, joined by marquee names like Armin van Buuren, Avicii, Tiesto, Hardwell and David Guetta.
