Behold, Kazantip's epic 2013 lineup

If you’ve had a look at our list of 25 Festivals to Discover Before You Die, you would have noticed Kazantip in the #1 spot. It’s with good reason the festival made it to the top spot: stretching over a number of weeks on Ukraine’s picturesque Crimean Peninsula, Kazantip regularly brings in around 300 DJs a year to cater to the 14 dancefloors across the 60,000 square metre festival site. As well as the sun, the up-for-it crowd and 21-hours per day of music, Kazantip also boasts a community element to give Burning Man a run for its money: by its own declaration, Kazantip is a “virtual republic” and everyone who makes the pilgrimage is a “paradizer”.

Basically, the Kazantip experience alone is probably enough to sell you on heading along. Really sweetening the deal, though, are the ever-exceptional lineups. True to form, this year it looks like Kazantip has pulled together another formidable bill. The festival has just announced the first round of names (yes, there’s more to come) headed to Ukraine this Northern summer and Dixon, Jamie Jones, Loco Dice, Moderat, Ricardo Villalobos are among them. Want more? Names as diverse as Maceo Plex, Pendulum and Markus Schulz are all there too, part of the 90-strong first announcement.

Keen to tick this one off your bucket list? Kazantip kicks off on July 31 and runs through to August 14 and to get your ticket, you’ll need to register for a “ViZa” here. Check out the full lineup and key dates below.

That's actually a good mixed bag of artists. Some I wouldn't be keen on but it really has something for everyone.
