Moderat announce new album: "We aged 10 years making it"

A few weeks back, Moderat’s Facebook page came alive with the message: ‘MODERAT II = DONE’. Now fans can rejoice that the electronic ‘supergroup’ is releasing its new album in August 2013 (we’ve included the album art below). It’s been four years since the production team of Apparat and Modeselektor released its debut album. The follow-up, set for release on Modeselektor’s Monkeytown label, includes 11 new tracks. Moderat will tour over the European summer, with shows at Kazantip, Eastern Electrics, Sonne Mond Sterne, Lowlands and more.
“After spending six quite intense months in the studio we just finished our second album,” Moderat writes. “It’s simply called Moderat II and we aged about 10 years while making it but we think it was worth the trouble. Not seeing any sunshine or daylight for a long time, we can‘t wait to go on tour in August and play the new stuff live.”
Moderat began way back in 2002 when Apparat recorded the Auf Kosten Der Gesundheit EP on BPitch Control with Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary of Modeselektor. For their debut album, the collective rented space at the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin in order to record the production on vintage analogue equipment.
‘Moderat II’ tracklist:

4. Let In The Light
