Knife Party's 'EDM Death Machine' is doing all the festivals

It’s fair to say the last 12 months have gone pretty well for Knife Party. The steely-faced, black-clad ‘seizure music’ specialists have travelled the world, released some incendiary EPs and moved ever-further up festival bills. Now Knife Party is set to release its latest missive on Earstorm, the Haunted House EP, featuring three new tracks Power Glove, LRAD and EDM Death Machine, plus a ‘VIP’ version of mainstage smasher Internet Friends. On 6 May, Knife Party will make the EP available to buy on its website with Bitcoins – get clued up on Bitcoins here – alongside the traditional digital outlets.

The duo has presented its Haunted House concept in key cities, including a Miami event this year with Tommy Trash, Walden, Kill The Noise and more. Over the Northern summer, the guys are going to be busy. Europe is getting well looked after, and there are prime slots locked in at Tomorrowland and Benicassim. Over in the United States, Knife Party is on the mammoth HARD Summer line-up alongside fellow headliners Bassnectar and Justice, then it’s back across the Atlantic for Sonne Mond Sterne, the Leeds/Reading double and Creamfields. As summer closes, Knife Party plays Electric Zoo in New York.

What Knife Party told Mixmag in late 2012 still rings true for the production team born out of Pendulum’s end: “At the moment we’re just trying to maintain a steady stream of EPs in between touring. Aside from that, we don’t really have any immediate goals. We found goals to be quite counter-productive with our previous project, so at the moment we’re just trying to enjoy ourselves and make music.”

'Bout bloody time they released some new stuff, been waiting bloody forever. Touring america and europe all year is all well and good until you discover you lost a heap of fans in other parts of the world because you didn't release any productions for them. Don't forget your roots, guys.
