Ladies First, an all female hip hop event

The women of hip hop will take center stage at Bar Broadway on Thursday 15th May at Ladies First , a night dedicated to showcasing and paying well deserved respect to some of this countries leading ladies of hip hop.



The night kicks off with a screening of ‘All the Ladies’, a 25-minute documentary by Colleen Hughson and Mary Quinscara (AKA MC Q), about women in Australian hip hop.



‘All the Ladies’ explores what it’s like to be a female rapper in the Australian underground hip-hop scene through interviews with six women from across Australia: A-Love, Little G, MC Que, Layla, Maya Jupiter and Thorn. The documentary couples interviews with a dynamic soundtrack and compelling live footage to explore the challenges and struggles women in hip hop face in their search for respect, identity and lyrical freedom.



The exclusive Sydney screening of ‘All the Ladies’ will begin at 9pm and is followed by a strong line up of female talent including Groovy D on the dex and the live and lyrical talents of MC Que (Melbourne), Trey, Maya Jupiter, Thorn, Eternia (Canada), Jade Nemisis and Macromantics.
