ITM has just received news that of one half of Metro Area, Darshan Jesrani will be returning to Australia in July.
Countless late-night sessions in New Jersey and Manhattan have passed since their stunning debut EP (featuring the cult classic, Atmosphrique) and Metro Area are still stunning the connoisseurs of deep dance music with each of their limited-edition releases on the Environ record label.
Currently, Darshan is busy with a hectic, international touring and DJ schedule, relocation to Brooklyn, NY and the creation of a new studio and workspace, a remix for Environ’s UnClassics 12” series, new Metro Area material with Morgan for fall 2003 release, the production of a song written with Lisa Shaw and Alexi Delano and a monthly residency with Morgan at New York’s famed music spot APT. Metro Area has most recently completed remixes of Hugh Masekela’s “Mama” for Verve Records and Alexi Delano/Robert Manos’”Round & Round” for Brooklyn’s Statra label.
Darshan will be playing a DJ set on the following dates:
Sydney at Tank on Friday 9th July
Melbourne at Seven on Saturday 10th July.
