The day is getting closer as Adelaide’s own Fabric Promotions prepare to put on the most ambitious small club event the city has ever seen. Bringing together the much maligned progressive, breaks, trance, techno and just about every other quality dance scene as they did with last years successful Balance Tour featuring James Holden and Steve Gerrard, this time they present two of the hottest acts in the world today, Infusion and Matthew Dekay at Garage. So far in 2004, both of them have been tearing it up around the world, from Glastonbury to Creamfields to Holland’s Extrema Festival and Dance Valley. As is the custom, the Melbourne trio have been touring in support of their latest album Six Feet Above Yesterday, their 100% live show heralded by parts of the global music media as “the best live act in the world,” while Dekay has become one of the most (if not THE most) in-demand DJs and producers around, drawing high praise from the likes of Sasha, Digweed, Kleinenberg and Tiesto.
But if that wasn’t enough, Fabric have also seen fit to add another world beating performer to the bill, this time in the guise of Melbourne-lad-turned-good, Chris Meehan. After wowing the crowds earlier this year, he returns to Adelaide fresh off a European tour (playing alongside Kasey Taylor) and on the back of a string of critically acclaimed releases on the labels Vapour, SOG, Feed Me and EQ. He’ll be playing a very special back-to-back set with Adelaide’s own progressive house hero, Mal Chia, as they duel it out on four decks trading bomb for bomb, plus Brendon and Lachy Pender.
The night will also feature additional lighting and sound from Ben FX, bringing the production values you would expect from the superclubs into the intimate confines of Garage.
In order to keep things nice and cosy, only 200 pre-sold tickets have been released for $15 + fees available now from Venuetix, 618 Records or direct from Garage. These have started moving, so get yours quick to guarantee entry to the most slamming club event of the year!
