Earthdance Melbourne 2004 schedule

This year the Melbourne Earthdance Festival and benefit night sees the largest program of performers and artists presented by the Earthdance to date. Featuring two stages covered by giant geodesic domes, a market area, kid’s creative space and interactive stage, Federation Square will be transformed into a music and performance village for a day.

Electric Earth Stage (12noon -7.30pm)
Showcasing some of Melbourne’s (& Sydney’s) finest and evolving electronic live acts & DJ’s

Beyond Boundaries Stage on Yarra River
A space for cultures to be shared and explored. A chance to dissolve social barriers and go beyond our boundaries.


·          Ria Soemardjo – Traditional songs from Java with tabla and oud 


·          Visier Sanyu – rare and mystical throat singing and chants of Naga Land


·          Buddhist Chants with Tibetan Monks in exile


·          Chollo Dance Group – The Australian Chollo community performing dance and song from the Fashoda region, Sudan, Africa


·          The Marabou Project – Afro trance & tribal drums


·          Ju Ju – Indian and trance fusion music with live sitar and tabla performances


·          Brendan Marks – Australian indigenous story telling and fire ceremony with dance and didgeridoo


The Gorilla Soapbox
·          Featuring performances from some of Melbourne’s best underground artists. Expect comedy, circus, dance and acoustic sounds


·          Live visual artists painting canvases


·          All are invited to climb the box and join in!


Creative Children’s Workshops at Art Play, Birrarung Marr 12-4pm
Love Fairies hosts interactive activities for 0-12years


·          Baby Gym (6 weeks – 3years)


·          Kids yoga & Meditation (3yrs & up)


·          Face Painting, Story Time with the Love Fairy,


·          Fantasy Costumes – using recycled materials, 


·          Kids Disco & Dance, Fairy Dance & Limbo (All ages 0-12yrs)
