Signal is a new touring brand for live experimental music in Melbourne, this new brand will be showcasing international and local artists that redefine the meaning of a “live show” and prove that analogue is evil and laptops can kill.  Stable, Substrata, Qube Konstrukt and Slap Records join forces to present the first Signal show will be happening on Saturday 18th December and will feature Phoenecia (Schematic Records, USA) live.

Phoenecia are Joshua Kay and Romulo Del Castillo. They began in 1995 as an electro group known as Soul Oddity, changing their name to Phoenecia when they began making deeper more experimental sounds. Joshua and Romulo also run breakthrough experimental label Schematic (housing the output of Phoenecia, Richard Devine, Otto Von Schirac and more) and as Phoenecia make crazy beat laden experimental analogue glitch which encompasses sounds and influences from dub, hip hop and electro for Schematic, Warp and more.

Support will be from Melbourne’s very own Qua and Cambion live, DJs Quockenzocker and Dave Pham.
