WET 006 is returning to RMIT’s Storey Hall on July 28th and it’s going to have an even bigger barricade of artists.
Room One: WetMusik label artists, featuring Ben Sims (UK), WetMusik Live, Alpharisc Live, Simon Coyle, Eric Powell, Damain Laird, Ben Cromack and Steve Douglas.
Room Two: the Materialz DJs, which include Dave Pham, Dallas, Rankin, Shaun Sullivan and ITM’s very own Mike Callander.
Ben Sims has been a regular visitor to these shores, and his appearances at Rotation and Connekted in the past few years are not easily forgotten, recently being described as “the man who single handedly redefined the interpretation of techno.” Sims is responsible for taking the party sound back to the floor, as he promises to give to Melbourne the dancing night of the year.
Sims’ profile has soared in the past eighteen months, as he has become one of the busiest and high profiled DJ’s on the international circuit. His diary is booked at least eight months in advance, and he has residences in both Spain and the UK. Label owner of Hardgroove, Symbolism, Native and Theory records, Sims has just released a Theory Master Mix CD and is the mastermind behind techno anthems Reanipulator, The Mole remixes and Hardgroove. This is the first time Sims appears for WetMusik and with the continuing success of their events. WET 006 is shaping up to be the best ticket in town.
WET 006 will also showcase the new talent in Melbourne, as the second instalment of the Materialz party has been combined with this Wet event. Local talent includes Dallas and Dave Pham plus Fokus resident Mike Callander. Taking place at Storey Hall on Saturday July 28th, WET 006 will be recorded LIVE with a double CD mixed by Simon Digby and Alpharisc due for release in Mid August.
Not to be outdone, ITM will be taping live footage of WET 006, including an exclusive interview with Ben Sims, all of which will appear on ITM in the coming weeks.
Tickets available from usual outlets. Presale $33 +GST +booking fee. More on the door.
