The Rev continues to find many fine things to do with one of Brisbane’s best venues on a Sunday afternoon – the latest being Offshoots, a monthly dose of dedicated dub, dancehall, jungle-drum’n’bass, breaks and related beats.
Offshoots – so named as it will showcase all the offshoots of reggae – will run monthly on the third Sunday of every month with guest live acts and DJs.
For the grand opening party the award winning and highly entertaining dub and breaks-influenced cabaret band My Ninja Lover (pictured, left) will headline the bill, alongside Tempertone who bring live vibes of dub, dance, drum’n’bass and funk to the party. Joining them will be DJs No MC (4ZZZ’s Dub & dancehall DJ) and Junglettes DJs Delahaye and Gidgette for dubbed out Jungle sounds. Along with the music, Offshoots will be cooking up a storm from 5pm with a Jamaican themed BBQ that’s 100% free.
The inaugral Offshoots party is scheduled for this Sunday, JuneE 19 @ The Rev. BBQ starts at 5pm and the tunes will run until at least. Entry is $6/$5.
