Rise to the Revolution

Rise Nightclub in Northbridge has kickstarted a new ‘Revolution’ for Saturday night clubbing in Perth. Rise Manager and resident DJ Simon Barwood has teamed up with local international drum’n’bass superstar Greg Packer to launch their new Saturday night “Revolution”.

Rise has traditionally been home to trance and hard dance, the move to drum’n’bass somewhat of a major shift in music policy. Says Barwood of his new co-resident  “I have enormous respect for Greg, in his achievements and ability as a DJ. I won’t for a minute pretend to understand much about the music he plays but from watching him it is very apparent that he knows, on an intuitive level, how to work a crowd and elicit from them a positive response to his music even if it’s not a genre they are overly familiar with.”

‘Revolution’ kicks off this Saturday June 25th with it’s launching party and happens every Saturday afterwards featuring residents Simon Barwood, Greg Packer and MC Assassin. Guest DJ’s over coming weeks include MRW, Signal Drivers,Terry Waites, Hutcho, Adam Kelly, Karlsav, Rousa, Kevin and more.
