The votes have been tallied, cross checked and verified. After much anticipation, we can now bring you the full winners list for the third annual Technics inthemix50 DJ Poll. inthemix would like to thank each and every person who voted in the 2005 poll, making it our biggest year ever with 40,000 votes cast!

In 2005 Kid Kenobi has once again shown his popularity, taking the top spot for the third year running. Australia’s hard dance king Nik Fish grappled his way up one spot, pipping Mark Dynamix at the post to take the #2 spot. The hardest working female in Australia’s dance scene, Bexta, remained steady at number 4, while Sydney’s mash-up master Ajax shot into the top 5 for the very first time!

Notable moves include Victorian DJs John Course, Grant Smillie and Hellraiser. Course rose up 7 spots to enter the top 10, while Smillie was 2005’s highest mover – entering the Top 50 for the first time in the #20 position. Hellraiser jumped 8 spots to snag the spot as #15 DJ nationally.

Queenslander Baby Gee jumped a whopping 12 positions to take out #19 nationally, while West Australia’s Kenny L, who was voted #1 for WA in 2004, climbed 7 spots this year to the number 13 position nationally – retaining his #1 WA mantle for another year in the process.

In Adelaide a new #1 is crowned, with DJ Brendon entering the Top 50 for the first time, taking 1st place honours for South Australia in the process. The absence of RobKay in Canberra saw Jeff Drake rise to take out the #1 spot for the nation’s capital.

Australia’s Top 5 international DJs were once again dominated by the biggest names in trance, with Tiesto coming in 1st, followed by Armin Van Buuren and Ferry Corsten, with Krafty Kuts and Armand Van Helden rounding out the Top 5.
