Earthdance is undoubtedly the globe’s biggest dance event for peace, with parties held in over 150 cities in 50 countries across the world. The first ever Sydney metropolitan event was held in 2004, with over 5,000 people estimated to have attended. Due to the success of last year’s party, Earthdance will once again descend on Sydney in 2005, with not one but two events scheduled to happen!
The official launch of the Earthdance Festival will take place at The World in Kings Cross on Friday August 26th. Running from 8pm to 6am, you’ll be able to see the likes of Motech, Nathan McLay, Matt Aubusson, Dave Choe, Trent Rackus, Mark Murphy, N-Zed, Crispin, James Taylor, Frenzie, Murda1, Emajica and many more, across 4 rooms at The World.
Then there’s the main event, which happens once again at Sydney Park in St Peters. A huge free party, Earthdance will run from 10am to 9pm, and the confirmed lineup so far includes the likes of Jonathan Wall, Stick Figures (live), Bang Gang crew including Ajax and Gus Da Hoodrat, Illya, Will Styles, Mark Murphy, Out Of Order (live), Deep As Funk crew, Percussion Junction (live), and over 30 more acts sill to be announced.
For full details on either event head to ITM Whatson or the official Earthdance website: http://www.earthdance.org.au.
