James Brown to headline the 2006 Good Vibrations Festival

After weeks of speculation and rumour the first round of headline artists for the 2006 Good Vibrations Festival have now been revealed, with funk legend James Brown set to appear with his 20 piece band! As with previous years the festival is set to feature a stunning array of top class acts from across the spectrum of dance, hip-hop and roots music, both internationally and from around Australia.

Sharing the spotlight alongside James Brown will be Bahamadia, regarded as one of the leading ladies of hip-hop as the protégé of Guru from GangStarr, the Cuban Brothers in their brand spanking new live show replete with 8 piece band, Brazilian drum & bass legend DJ Marky with longtime collaborator MC Stamina, and Talib Kweli, famous for his collaborations with Mos Def and for having given Kanye West his first break.

Additional international acts confirmed include Datarock*, Dusted London, Estelle, Lady Kier, Malente, Nextmen, Norman Jay, Switch and Z-Trip, while locals Katalyst, Groove Terminator*, Sneaky Sound System* and Mark Dynamix have also been announced for the tour.

First release tickets for the festival went onsale last Friday, November 4th, exclusively to Good Vibrations Festival website members. If you’re not a member, get in quick because it’s free to join! General price tickets will be onsale from November 18th.
