One of the most interesting features in the recently released inthemix.05 annual magazine is no doubt likely to be the history of the Australian dance scene timeline. The timeline stretches back to the early 80s, detailing the most significant moments in Australia’s burgeoning electronic music scene over the preceding three decades.
Compiled with the help of many of Australia’s longest serving identities in the dance scene, such as Paul Mac, Pee Wee Ferris, John Wall, Mark James, Andrew Penhallow, Ben Suthers and more, it’s understandable that we couldn’t fit everything we wanted to into the magazine article because of space constraints. So, in the interest of creating the most in-depth and exhaustive timeline of the Australian scene, we decided to also place it online and give our members the opportunity to contribute their defining moments for inclusion.
To check out the timeline for yourself click HERE, and if you feel you’ve got an important event or incident that’s missing from the list be sure to submit the details for it to be added!
