Practically an institution for midweek d’n’b lovers in 2005, ‘Twilight’ was reborn last week in the nooky West End venue, Enigma Bar. The opening night attracted a decent crowd of old and new faces, and featured the first of many guest appearances by local D’n’B legend, Fiction. The night previously ran at Worldsend for about 18 months.

Twilight’s longevity can be linked to two things: the popularity of d’n’b in the Adelaide scene, and the tireless efforts of Parallel and Bakup, who’ve been behind the show right from the start. Megz (who is a featured vocalist on some of Parallel’s own production work) locked down the new venue for ‘06, and the lads are more than happy with their new home.

Adelaide has had a great run lately attracting world leaders of the d’n’b scene… and Twilight will soon be in on the act. While other promoters have brought down Shimon, Mampi Swift, DKay, Raiden, Robyn Chaos, Pendulum, Calyx, Dom& Roland and soon Marky and Andy C, the Twilight crew have locked in a date with A-Sides (of Eastside Records & Metalheadz fame). That date is Friday, March 10th at Black Cat (Gouger St)... and not to be missed.

In the meantime, you can expect the usual high calibre d’n’b selections and mixing every Thursday from the likes of Strife and Fluke, with former guests like Djon, Mark7 and Patch taking turns dropping in. This week the guest spot goes to Rolex, the hottest female d’n’b DJ on the circuit at the moment. Entry is free, and if the music isn’t incentive enough, there are some great deals on drinks too. Pints of beer are $3.50, Vodka and Scotch are $4, Breezers are $5 and best of all, jugs of Tooheys New are $10 (for those who care to share).

For those Who don’t know Enigma, the downstairs space offers free Internet, some video games, pool tables, insane metal sculptures and is now the new home of Thursday night d’n’b in Adelaide. You can find Enigma at 173 Hindley Street (West).
