Scribblejam is the world’s largest international hip hop battle, combining the best talent from around the globe to mark one of the biggest dates on the global hip hop calendar. The festival is run over fourteen dates across the US and runs heats in the following categories: DJ battles, MC battles, graffiti comps and b-boy dance-offs. The divisional heats are run in thirteen cities around the US, where the contestants go to battle to win US $15,000 in prize money, along with recording and video contracts.

As part of the ‘Elements’ tour, Scribblejam will be co-ordinated across Australia with finals held in each state with DJ Q-Bert and MC Natural judging the competition. Winners in each state will then fly to Sydney to compete in the battle of all battles, which will take place on May 26. Following the Australian final the winner will be flown out to the US to compete in the final round of Scribblejam. Last year the highly-coveted gong was taken out by Melbourne’s MC Justice, who became the 2005 Grand Master MC.
