With the annual Feast Festival just around the corner, it’s time to get prepared for this year’s Sleaze Ball, held November 18th. Previously headlined by the likes of Paul Holden, this year top billing goes to our own adopted son, Matt Thomas (aka Banga Matt) and Sydney’s big party pleaser, DJ Ruby. They share the spotlight with scene favourite DJ Josh, and long-time party pleaser, HMC. It’s not all about the music though, as the event’s name suggests. While piquing the interests of principally the gay and lesbian scene, the party should appeal to everyone with a sense of fun, flair, and perhaps a healthy hit of kink.

With the theme of the event set as ‘Forbidden Fruits in the Garden of Indiscretion’ there’s a floor show to match, courtesy of Essential Talent. Crowd-wise, there’ll be extremes in attire from Eden-inspired glam to the downright indiscrete. The costumed extraverts won’t be the only ones performing either, with a little playful S&M courtesy of Xtreme Darque, awe-inspiring fire jugglers, unique dance performances from Flagmania and a few live PA sets from more local dance-music talent. Fresh FM favourite Ezee G will be spinning along with live sax and Maverick on percussion, and Karina Chavez is booked in for a stellar vocal appearance. Throw in sets from Michael Fraser, Systembot (live PA), Lush, Fusion and MC Rudeboy, and you have a night to be reckoned with.

Almost as formidable as it’s line-up of musical and performance is the events attention to fund-raising for a very important cause. $3 from every ticket and $1 from every bottle of water sold will go to ACS, the Aids Council of South Australia. On the back of previous years’ attendances (upward of eight hundred people), this event will sell out, so be sure to get a hold of tickets early. For those who miss out on a ticket, be sure to tune into the radio simulcast on Fresh FM, direct from Sleaze on the night, courtesy of ATM Communications. The venue for the event this year is the Viva Function centre (formerly Le Rox) and will operate several interconnected rooms, not unlike July’s Winter Enchanted. Stay tuned to ITM for ticket sales and more details closer to the night.
